LinkedIn Ad Library: How to Search It, Field by Field

Updated

Fill in what you know. You get a search link to the platform's own ad library; the results open on its site.

LinkedIn Ad Library

Fill in at least one of keyword, advertiser or payer.

Fill in the fields above to build the link.

The LinkedIn Ads Library (LinkedIn calls it the Ad Library), at linkedin.com/ad-library, lets you search ads that ran on LinkedIn. You can search it by keyword, company or advertiser name, payer, country and time period. Below is how each field works, how to check whether a competitor is advertising, and what we have and have not verified. For Meta, TikTok, Google and Microsoft, see our ads library overview.

Where to find the LinkedIn ad library

Open the LinkedIn Ads Library at linkedin.com/ad-library, or start from our home page. Pick LinkedIn in the search box, fill in what you know, and it builds a LinkedIn search link from those fields. The search runs on LinkedIn’s site, and AdsLibrary.org does not fetch or store anything you find. We have checked LinkedIn’s search form, but not yet how its results page applies each filter.

LinkedIn ad library search: the five fields

The search form on the LinkedIn Ads Library has five inputs. You don’t need all of them; one good input is enough to start.

Field What to type When it helps
Keyword A word or phrase, such as a product name You know the subject but not the advertiser
Company or advertiser The company’s name as it appears on LinkedIn You are checking one competitor
Payer The name of whoever paid for the ads You know who handles the brand’s ad spend
Country One country The advertiser targets specific markets
Time period Last 30 days, this month, this year, last year, or a custom range You want recent ads, or a longer view

How to check if a competitor runs LinkedIn ads

A quick check takes four steps:

  1. Search the company name in the advertiser field.
  2. Set a country if the competitor sells in specific markets.
  3. Start with this year, then switch to last 30 days to see what is current.
  4. Try a product keyword if the company name finds nothing.

Write down the period and country you used in the LinkedIn Ads Library. Two searches with different settings are not comparable, and it is easy to forget which one you ran.

What we could and couldn’t verify about LinkedIn’s ad data

We checked the LinkedIn Ads Library search form itself: its entry address, its five inputs and its period options. We have not yet verified how its results page filters, or which details appear on each ad, such as impressions or targeting. Until we have, we won’t claim the LinkedIn Ads Library shows those numbers.

LinkedIn Ads Library compared with other ad libraries

Ad library How you search Coverage note
LinkedIn Ads Library Keyword, company or advertiser, payer, country, period We have not verified its coverage; five period options, including a custom range
Meta Ad Library Keyword or advertiser name, by country Meta says it covers every ad currently running on its apps, Instagram included
Google Ads Transparency Center Advertiser name or website, filtered by region and date, per Google’s help center Google’s 2023 launch post says it covers Search, YouTube and Display ads
TikTok Commercial Content Library Advertiser name or keyword, advertiser ID, date range Built for EU transparency rules
Microsoft Ad Library Search on Microsoft’s page only Bing ads shown in the European Economic Area, from June 2023

In the LinkedIn Ads Library, the payer field is worth a try when you know who pays for a brand’s ads. For Facebook and Instagram ads, our Meta Ad Library guide walks through the same steps.

Frequently asked questions

Does LinkedIn have an ad library?

Yes. LinkedIn's Ad Library is at linkedin.com/ad-library. Its search form takes a keyword, a company or advertiser name, a payer, a country and a time period.

How can I see if competitors have LinkedIn ads?

Search the competitor's company name in the advertiser field of the LinkedIn Ads Library, pick a country, and set the period to this year. If nothing comes back, try last year or a custom range covering both years. Still nothing? Search a product keyword instead of the company name.

How far back can I search the LinkedIn Ads Library?

The LinkedIn Ads Library search form offers five periods: last 30 days, this month, this year, last year, and a custom range. We have not tested how far back a custom range can reach, so treat older dates as unconfirmed.

Does the LinkedIn Ads Library show spend or impressions?

We have checked the LinkedIn Ads Library search form, not every field on its results pages, so we cannot confirm what spend or impression data it shows. Open a result on LinkedIn and read the ad details there.

Can I open a LinkedIn Ads Library search from AdsLibrary.org?

Yes. The search box on our home page turns a keyword, advertiser, payer, country and period into a LinkedIn Ad Library link, and the search runs on linkedin.com. We have not yet verified how LinkedIn's results page applies each filter, and AdsLibrary.org does not fetch or store the results.

Is AdsLibrary.org part of LinkedIn?

No. AdsLibrary.org is an independent site and is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn. The LinkedIn Ads Library itself belongs to LinkedIn and runs on linkedin.com.
